It is time again for "Connect to a Cause," the crowdfunding project sponsored by the Community Foundation of Lorain County. This year, it will be held on Thursday, September 19th, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature 95 non-profits from around Lorain County.

Connect to a Cause is a fantastic opportunity to support our children and families.  50% of the funds raised will be used for direct assistance to families in crisis, including emergency shelter when no other option is available.  The rest will be added to our Endowment Fund to help provide for our future needs.

Your Connect to a Cause donation goes even further this year. Community Foundation has secured corporate sponsors to match donations, and we hope to earn some of the available “bonuses” from these sponsorships through a successful campaign. We also encourage you to check with your employer to see if they might be able to match your donation.

There are several ways to give:

1.      By check made out to the Community Foundation of Lorain County:  Send it to them with the attached form or drop it off at Blessing House or the Community Foundation offices anytime before 8 pm on September 19th.

2.      Online by clicking on the white puzzle piece above until Tuesday, September 17th:  You will be directed to a site where you can donate for this campaign.

3.      Online September 19th between the hours of 8AM and 8PM, using the link that will be shared that day on the Blessing House and Community Foundation’s website and social media.  We can even send you a reminder text if you don’t want to forget – click on the green puzzle piece above

A helpful tip:  You can use your IRA to make a direct charitable contribution that may generate tax savings for you. Making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA lets you donate to our organization while incurring tax savings.  (Please consult with your tax advisor for specific information.)
