Spreading Our Wings

This summer, Blessing House is all abuzz with our newest addition- a pollinator garden! It’s a beautiful, vibrant space, alive with budding blooms. We are so grateful to provide our children with this tranquil space and ignite their curiosity for the natural world. It has been a true blessing to work once again with our friends at The Stocker Foundation and Lifestyle Landscaping on this beautiful space.

The children’s first project in the garden perfectly aligned with their “Bug Week” activities. On June 1st, our garden dedication was celebrated with a butterfly release! You see, a group of caterpillars had been living at Blessing House for some time now. The children got to experience the magic of watching them create their cocoons and emerge as beautiful butterflies. Our four butterfly friends were lovingly named Unicorn, Fox, Joe, and Mama.

On release day, the children were assisted in taking a butterfly from the habitat, cupping it gently between their hands, and releasing it into the world with a wish. It was a brief, bittersweet moment of wonder as the children watched the butterflies float out of sight, hoping they may eventually come back and make their home at Blessing House.
