Rock-a-Bye Committee Activities
What do the members of the Rock-A-Bye Ball Committee do?
- Help choose a theme for the event
- Help develop a plan to carry the theme throughout the event (venue entrances, photo ops, general room, tables, stage, lighting, event favors, etc.)
- Identify and solicit individuals and businesses to be sponsors
- Serve as a liaison between sponsors and Blessing House
- Identify and solicit individuals and corporations willing to donate silent and live auction items (e.g. experiences, services, packages, merchandise)
- Arrange pick-up/delivery of auction items
- Create media plan and coordinate publicity and marketing efforts
- Attend regular committee meetings
- Spread the word about the Rock-A-Bye Ball and Blessing House
- Assist with selling tables/individual tickets
- Assist with silent auction, live auction and raffle set up on day before event and event day
- Support the annual Procurement Party
- Help promote 50/50 Presale tickets

Who, What, When, Where
Who: Anyone who wants to help support the children of Blessing House and:
- Has imagination and great planning and organizational skills
- Has good communication skills and ability to communicate a vision in keeping with the theme
- Has an eye for detail
- Likes to work with people
- Is friendly and outgoing
- Has artistic ability
- Has design or marketing experience
- Has teamwork skills
- Is willing to reach out to their contacts, or individuals or businesses and solicit them for a sponsorship, or
- Is willing to solicit businesses and individuals for auction/raffle items for the event.
What: Committee members help out throughout the year as they are able.
When: The Committee Members meet the first Tuesday of every month starting in January and then more often starting in September as needed unless the yearly Rock-A-Bye Ball meeting schedule states something different.
Where: Committee meetings are held in different locations throughout the year, usually in a committee member's home (in Lorain County). The yearly Rock-A-Bye Ball meeting schedule will state where each monthly meeting is held.
