These last few weeks have presented challenges for all of us. We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe as we all work together to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our priority at Blessing House has always been the safety of our children, families and staff and we have been following the recommendations from the CDC as well as State and Local government and health officials to ensure they remain protected. This includes social distancing, taking temperatures, hand washing and contact questioning to limit the exposure to the virus.
We have continued to support families in their homes through phone calls and the provision of needed food and supplies. We have also supplied information and referrals as part of a network in Lorain County committed to working together to provide a safety net for our children.
We have been collecting items from a wish list on our website for our families to support them in their homes. Donation of unopened household supplies and new toys and activities for children can be dropped off or shipped directly to Blessing House. We are not accepting used donations at this time.
We remain committed to providing help to those who need it. We recently celebrated our 15th anniversary and remember our earliest blessings when we knew that God would continue to give us what we needed as long as we cared for those He sent to us for help. And God has certainly done so.
We also remain committed to our project of expanding our capacity to be able to care for more children. As the health crisis lingers, more families are struggling with economic, mental health and housing issues. We expect an even greater need for our support services and are thankful for all who have contributed to our “Be Part of the Heart” Capital Campaign. Our fundraising continues as we anticipate groundbreaking.
Thank you to all who have supported our children and families with your financial donations, in-kind donations and your prayers. We ask for your continued support of our program and our building project as we move forward into an uncertain future.
We are “God’s Project of Hope,” a beacon for those who find themselves in darkness. Whether it be through the giving or the receiving, we are all part of a network that depends on each other. Thank you for being a part of our heart and joining us on our journey.
God bless and stay safe!
